I’ll admit, I still have reservation with the terms; however, there is still a need for these genres and literature. I am glad that this blog has started and continues to address the lack of diversity in the science fiction. I am glad that I got the chance to read this blog entry and was educated further on these movement and the challenge we continue to face. I had the opportunity to attend the NYC Comic Con in October 2013 and was able to attend the Geek and Color Panel, which was awesome and eye-opening. I urges everyone to read this and research these various movement in fiction and subcultures. This blog addresses a very important issues of portrayal and presence of people of color in mainstream media. This one of the reason, I started this blog because I couldn’t find someone like me ,in this field. I think things are getting better (especially in my program) but we still have a long ways to go!
